Pepsi introduces its first NFT collection

Pepsi-Cola, a well-known soft drinks manufacturer, was founded and developed by Caleb Bradham in 1893. PepsiCo was originally called Brad’s Drink when it first appeared. However, the brand was renamed to PepsiCo by 1898. Today, Coca-Cola as well as PepsiCo are two of the most loved cola-flavored beverages on the market.

Pepsi-Cola’s birth year was celebrated by a genesis collection. This non-fungible token (NFT), collectibles has been launched by the company. This collection is known as the “PepsiMicro Drop” genesis NFT Collection and includes 1,893 unique generative NTs. It features iconic Pepsi flavors and a microphone visual.

Pepsi is a brand that has a strong history in pop culture and music, so it makes sense for us to carry that heritage into the new world NFTs with an epic’mic drop’,” Todd Kaplan (Pepsi’s vice-president of marketing), stated. Kaplan added:

We created the PepsiMic Drop genesis NFT collection for our fans, putting their interests and needs at the forefront by ensuring the NFTs are all free of charge and presented equitably as an inclusive and accessible opportunity for anyone to experience the exciting world of NFTs. This collectible series of microphones is not only inspired by our history, but also represents the scale and scope of how accessible we see this space becoming in the future.

Pepsi is following the many brands that are entering the NFT market, including Arizona Iced Tea and Budweiser. Budweiser, a popular American-style pale Lager made by Anheuser-Busch launched 1,936 NFTs last Wednesday to celebrate the debut of its Budweiser beer can.

Adidas also announced last week that the sneaker- and sportswear manufacturer was teaming with Bored Ape Yacht Club. PepsiCo announced that it is “implementing a Carbon Offset Program for the Launch of the Pepsi Mic Drop NFT in order to ensure a zero net carbon footprint.”
