Eyewitness News, also known as EWN, is a South African multiplatform news publisher that focuses on breaking news, entertainment, politics, and interactive media. You can access the news service on your computer, mobile or desktop.

Primedia Broadcasting’s radio stations 947, 702, KFM, and CapeTalk have EWN.

EWN launched a digital radio station that covered the Oscar Pistorius Trial on 03/03/2014. It was co-launched by 702 and CapeTalk, sister radio brands. The radio station was accessible on desktop, mobile, and Primedia Broadcasting audio streaming applications. The pop-up radio station was accessible throughout the trial and ended on 21 October 2014.

Primedia is a South African media company based in Sandton (Johannesburg). Primedia was founded in 1994. It was listed on the JSE Securities Exchange in April 1995. Primedia was listed on JSE Securities Exchange until October 2007. Its listing was ended after a successful private equity transaction (scheme or arrangements).

Crimeline: Primedia started Crimeline, an independent Initiative that aims to help South African authorities combat crime using anonymous tip-offs.

Lead SA: Primedia Broadcasting’s initiative Lead SA, which is supported by Independent Newspapers, promotes active citizenship. Lead SA was founded in August 2010, just after the 2010 Soccer World Cup. Its purpose is to celebrate the country’s achievements and take responsibility for its challenges and problems. Lead SA’s main focus areas are education, road safety, and the environment. Lead SA encourages all South Africans make a difference within their communities. The Lead SA initiative has been able to recognize and publicly affirm those South Africans who have dedicated themselves to the empowerment and service of others in their communities.
